About Us - Harvey Brink M.Ed., R.Psych.
Harvey Brink attended the University of Alberta where he obtained a B.A. in Psychology, and an Alberta Teaching Diploma, after which he taught special education classes for two years. He then returned to the U. of A. for 4 years and obtained a Master's Degree in counselling/clinical psychology and completed his Ph.D coursework requirements in counselling/clinical psychology, but did not complete his doctoral dissertation because of family and work priorities.
Harvey has practiced as a psychologist for 36 years and is a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists, the Psychologists Association of Alberta (Life Member), the Canadian Psychological Association, the Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, the Canadian Register of Clinical Hypnosis, the Canadian Register of Clinical Hypnosis - Alberta Society, and several other interest groups. He served as a part-time psychology instructor at Grant McEwan for two terms and was a Tutor for Psychology 411 (Introduction to Counselling) for Athabasca University for 11 years. Over the years, Harvey has served in different roles with the College of Alberta Psychologists where he is currently on the Publications Committee. His passion has always been in private practice, and his business (Pathways Psychological and Educational Services, Inc.), has thrived for many years thanks, primarily, to word-of mouth referrals.
Harvey is also very community minded, especially in the areas of community theatre and photography. He was a Patron of Matchbox Theatre and has volunteered in many capacities for Central Alberta Theatre including directing, acting and producing. Harvey is currently the past president of the Central Alberta Photographic Society, the current Prairie Zone Director of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art and is a member of the Red Deer Chamber of Commerce, a past member of the Downtown Rotary Club, and a Board Member of the Danish Canadian National Museum Society at Dickson. He has held several photographic exhibitions in the Central Alberta Area. Although having passed his youthful years, Harvey is youthful in spirit, and in his love of life and people.
